PoSH: A mandatory compliance at the workplace
The Ministry of Women and Child Development has officially notified the Sexual Harassment at The Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act and Rules, 2013. Enacted on December 9, 2013, this legislation is a critical step towards prevention and protection of women from sexual harassment at the workplace and thereby ensuring a safe working environment for women.
Under the PoSH Act, it’s mandatory for companies with more than 10 employees to establish an Internal Complaints Committee (IC) in a manner outlined by the law. This committee is entrusted with the crucial task of promptly and confidentially addressing any complaints of sexual harassment from women employees. click here
